I started my martial arts training in 1977 with Grand Master Jack Searcy. Due to family obligations I was forced to take a multi-year sabbatical. I always had a sense that I needed to recapture what I had begun years earlier. Once you have become a martial artist you realize that it is much more than kicking and punching. It is a constant expansion of both the physical being and spiritual knowledge.

I began to search for Grand Master “Hanshi” Jack Searcy but I was unsuccessful. I tried other art forms but none of them seemed to measure up. When you have been taught by the best it is always difficult to settle for less. I realized that I must finish what I started years ago.

Fortunately for me, I finally located “Hanshi”. I have once again begun my training in earnest. Last year I competed in the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame Tournament and took First place in forms, weapons and fighting.

My goal is to awarded my senseiship and to possibly start my own school. In the interim I am a General Manager with a prominent restaurant.
